All our lives we strive to make quick changes, but that needs immense willpower and determination & that's where we fail (most of us!)

Unlearning something is more difficult than learning something new, and dragging oneself out of our own created shell is the toughest thing in the world.

It is much easier to think about 'kicking the butt', but actually doing it in real… is a pain!

Remember, after failing to perform in school exams, we vowed to study harder next time; but each year we failed to stick to our own vows.

Fewer hours on internet, cutting down on expenses, lessening the cigarette count per day, exercises and what not, we just never stop making resolutions, but never do we give a thought on putting these as our top priority in the coming year.

We often wait for the next year to come, in order to make strong 'new year' resolutions

So we asked a young group aged 23-29, about what priorities did they set to set for last year, and why it failed for them!

Their subtle responses on different resolutions might stun you!

Here we have discussed a few ones which are hard to keep.

1) Savings -

This one is a hard nut to crack!

No matter howsoever high is our pay; we mostly end up as penniless by the end of the month. So we often we resolve to improve upon our savings.

Komel, 28, a working professional in a media house says, "Even last year I vowed to cut down on expenses, but failed. But this year I'll pick up from where I left."

She adds, "I just can't ignore to visit online shopping sites, once in a while and that's where all my savings are probably right now!”

2)Smoking -

A wise smoker has aptly said, "To quit smoking is the easiest thing in the world I have done it hundred times."

Sharique Khan, a student from Jamia University has finally quit smoking, but that wasn't because of his 'new year' resolution: "I tried very hard to give it up, but no resolution could make me quit smoking."

He reveals how a visit to his family doctor turned his life around, "Iit was only after discovering my lung ailment; I was forced to leave it."

3) Porn addiction-

Porn addiction is a new kind of substance abuse, not only it objectifies woman but also instigates sexual depravity.

We were amazed when a 29 year old working as a financial assistant opened up about secret 'new year' resolution. He said, "It defiled my imagination and I ended up feeling guilty most of the time."

"I vowed to get rid of this habit but sometimes your urges often get better of your senses", he adds.

4) Social media addiction -

This may not be as detrimental as the previous addiction, but it has its own consequences.

A person increasingly remains glued to his system & his virtual presence becomes more important; and he avoids social interaction.

Shruti, a 24 yr old journalist and a social media enthusiast had a total different thing to share, "Resolutions are the last thing in my mind. Once you break it, you will have this sense of guilt which is even more depressing."

5) Arguments -

This one is more behavioral in nature.

Some of us are gifted with this unique ability, where we cannot stop ourselves from arguing with people; keeping the mouth shut is the last thing in their mind.

A sports buff, Sushant expressed his views saying, "I have decided not to get involve in useless arguments that only make the matters worse and serves nobody."

"Though I can just say it until some maniac pisses me off", he blasts.

We dont want to dissuade you guys from making resolutions but we just want to say: If someone wants change in his life he will not wait for the calendar to change...
