After the Elphinstone stampede in Mumbai, Ministry of Railways again seems to be at the back foot for its poor service in posh trains. This time it has been attacked by former Railway Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Dinesh Trivedi. In the video, Trivedi is showing dirt settled at the base of lime juice while travelling to Delhi in Shatabdi Express on Dussehra (September 30).

In the video aired by CNN News18, the politician said, ''Today is Dussehra. I just opened the Fresca lime water and see what I found inside. Have a look at it. This is what we are supposed to drink''.Showing his contaminated beverage, he said that people should protest otherwise they will continue to suffer. He slammed the Central Government for its failure to provide standard facilities in spite of hiking the fare. He demanded that government should cancel Fresca's contract. He also asked government to conduct surprise inspection of vendors that are under the contract of Ministry. Citing the recent stampede, he said that one can compromise with sub-standard food but not with safety

On receiving the complaint, the Ministry of Railways took to its Twitter account and said, ''Catering supervisor has met Dinesh Trivedi Ji on the train regarding this issue. We will be taking further action based on this complaint''. Mr. Trivedi was Union Minister of Railways during UPA regime but he was sacked after his proposal of forming a regulator for fare hikes.
