With political drama touching new heights in this season of elections, the battle of outdoing each other with catchy campaign songs is speeding up.

Apart from high voltage campaigning on social media, the parties are busy in the business of self promotion and singing their own praises on the traditional medium, as well.

We can listen to Bollywood style party jingles taking the round on radio 24*7, promoting the political bigwigs.

Likewise Lok Sabha elections in 2014, BJP is fighting on Modi wave with the song- “Meri Dilli Ko Thoda Sa Pyar Chahiye, Kaam Karne Wali Modi Sarkar Chahiye”

On the other hand, AAP is crooning – ‘Paanch Saal Kejriwal', shutting down the voices taking potshots on 49 days instable government of AAP last year.

While BJP and AAP are focusing on present and coming future, Congress campaign sticks to the past works of 15 years, which reflects in their jingle – ‘Dilli Banayi Hai, Dilli Banayenge'

This new trend of campaigning through songs and jingles has spread the sense of happiness among music fraternity.

“People are realizing that art can be used to influence the human psyche. In ancient times, poets such as Chand Bardai motivated warriors with his songs,” says singer Kailash Kher.

Interestingly, he was the first musicians to compose a song for the Anna Hazare anti-crusade movement that lit the light of change among the countrymen.

With polling date inching closer, all the three parties are claiming that their respective jingles have been successful in conveying the right message to the right people.

However, it is the voter turnout on February 6 will decide the fate of BJP, AAP and Congress and not the popularity rating of their jingles.
