New Delhi, Jul 1: With help of child helpline six minor girls were rescued from placement agency allegedly involved in human trafficking and seven persons, including director of the placement agency, arrested during raid, police said yesterday.

An NGO got information that more than 12 minor girls from Jharkhand have been brought to a placement agency named Mahalakshmi Placement located in Rajouri Garden. After a tip-off from NGO, Delhi police raided the placement agency and rescued six girls.

The terrified girls have disclosed that the placement agency brought them a day ago for their placement as domestic help in various localities of Delhi.

Somari, director of the placement agency used to charge customers heavily to provide maids for domestic help.

Somari denied human trafficking allegations against her. “These girls came here voluntarily. Their parents sent them the our agency for employment. You can ask them, they all are from my village”, said Somari told media persons.

Police have recovered a diary which had names and addresses of various girls mentioned on it.  Empty liquor and beer bottles were also recovered from a room.

Police are now trying to find out how many minor girls have been placed by the agency to provide domestic help and who are the others involved in this racket.
