Micro blogging site Twitter on Wednesday updated its summary cards globally (on mobile). The latest change will let Twitter users see more information on a Tweeted link before they tap through. This preview helps users decide if they would like to visit the website.
It will improve the way users consume information from publishers, and it is also beneficial for publishers as users can see more about the content that's on their websites, with just a quick glance. This change has been launched on both Android and iOS for users who upgrade their Twitter apps.
Summary Cards are used by thousands of developers and news partners to richly represent their content on Twitter. Earlier, users would need to click on a tweet to see the details of the tweet. Now with Summary Cards users can see the image, title and summary of that tweet; these cards load automatically in the timeline. They get more information about the tweet right there in the timeline, and it's a more attractive format for consuming information.
