New Delhi: TVS Motor Co. Ltd on Wednesday reported a 31.17% increase in stand-alone net profit to Rs.68.8 crore for the third quarter ended 31 December. The Chennai-based company had posted a stand-alone profit of Rs.52.45 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a statement.
Net sales climbed to Rs.2,034.71 crore in the third quarter from Rs.1,802.61 crore a year earlier. TVS Motor said it sold 5.12 lakh two-wheelers in the quarter, compared with 5.03 lakh units in the same period of the previous year. Motorcycle sales rose to 2.07 lakh units from 1.97 lakh units. Scooter sales increased to 1.23 lakh units from 1.12 lakh units, it added.
Two-wheeler exports registered a 22% growth to 61,000 units in the quarter. The company said three-wheeler sales increased 52% to 20,701 units.
Shares of TVS Motor Co. gained 4.57% to Rs.70.90 apiece on BSE on Wednesday.
