New Delhi: Motorola has launched the new Moto Maxx smartphone at a press event in Brazil. The Moto Maxx is a variant of the company's recently launched US-exclusive Droid Turbo smartphone and packs similar specifications.

The company has announced that the Moto Maxx will be available starting Wednesday in Brazil from the company's online store (Motorola.com), and that the smartphone will reach Mexico by mid-November. It has been priced at BRL 2,199 (approximately Rs. 54,000) for the 64GB model.

The Moto Maxx smartphone features a 5.2-inch QHD display with a 1440x2560 pixels resolution and 565ppi density and comes covered with protective Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen. The device is powered by a 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and Adreno 420 GPU coupled with 3GB of RAM.

The Moto Maxx smartphone, much like the Droid Turbo, features a 'Ballistic Nylon' build. According to the handset maker, "It's a high-quality, durable material with a distinctive texture and rich colour - you might recognize it from outdoor gear, like backpacks."

The handset also packs a massive 3900 mAh battery and will be bundled with a Motorola Turbo charger, which can provide up to eight hours of power in 15 min charge.

On the imaging front, it comes with a 21MP rear autofocus camera with dual-LED flash, and a 2MP front-facing snapper.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE with LTE Cat 4, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, and GSM/ EDGE/ HSPA+. It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

The handset also includes features from the Moto X (Gen 2) such as the Moto Display, which can wake up the phone to show the time and notifications when user's reach for the phone.

The Moto Maxx comes with dimensions 143.5x73.3x11.2mm, while measures 8.3mm at the thinnest. It weighs 176 grams. The handset includes accelerometer, ambient light, e-compass, gyroscope, Infrared, and proximity sensors.
