New Delhi: Google, the maker of all things digital, has unveiled a debit card to access Google Wallet accounts.

The prepaid debit card lets Google Wallet users make payments with their Wallet balance at ATMs, banks, and any business that accepts MasterCard Debit. The MasterCard-branded card is swipe-able at stores, Google said.

The new card has been pitched a new way to pay for things offline without waiting for the money in your Google Wallet to transfer to a bank account.

You can request your own card and the company will ship it for free within 10 to 12 days. There are no activation fees to get started with the card.

It seems like the card is not for mass adoption, but meant for subset of Google Wallet users who have had money transferred to them from another Google Wallet user and don't want to wait a couple of days for the money to appear in their bank account. To some, it means a great peer-to-peer payments service which is now more attractive than Square Cash, which takes one or two days to deposit funds.

Google has set a maximum $5,000 per day spending limit on the card and your Wallet security PIN doubles as the debit card's PIN when buying things.
