New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India has a chance to rise again as a ‘global economic power' and he has a clear roadmap to channelize entrepreneurial capabilities of Indians.

"India does not need to become anything else. This is a country that once upon a time was called 'the golden bird'. We have fallen from where we were before. But now we have the chance to rise again," Modi said in an interview.

He also expressed confidence that Indian can match the China's economic growth story.

"China's contributions to global GDP have risen in parallel and fallen in parallel. Today's era once again belongs to Asia. India and China are both growing rapidly and most importantly together,” he said.

When asked about India's concerns over China's behaviour in the East China Sea and the South China, the Prime Minister said, “People should have trust in China's understanding that it would accept global laws.”

He, however, added that India cannot close its eyes to the issue.

The Prime Minister further said that the relation between India and US have much larger perspective and should not be seen within the limits of just Delhi and Washington.

“It is possible for India and US to develop a genuinely strategic alliance,” Modi said.

On Russia's actions in Ukraine and annexation of Crimea, he said, “India believes that efforts should be made to resolve problems through dialogue.”
