New Delhi, Oct 12: Carmakers are banking heavily on new product launches across segments and markets, to lure customers back to showrooms and in turn revive a slowing market. Festive period is considered to be the best time of the year to launch new cars when most of the people go for the purchase. India TV Auto takes a look at some of the new model that users can expect during the festive season.

Maruti Suzuki India, the king of small cars in India, is all set to launch an upgraded Alto, in the form of the Alto 800. Maruti Suzuki's Alto has been its best-selling car for the last twelve years and with new ravamped version, the company is hopeful of similar, if not bigger, success this time round as well. The new Alto 800 is sleeker and sportier than the previous model, thanks to higher mounted headlights, a chrome strip running across its front grille, and sculpted bumpers. On the inside, the company has reportedly refurbished its interiors with new upholstery and even the dashboard. There is slight improvement in boot space thanks to the seats that have been scooped in just like in the Alto K10. Maruti claims that this new Alto 800 will offer 22.74 kmpl which is 15 per cent more efficient than the previous generation Alto. The car will be available in three petrol variants, and three CNG variants. It is likely to be priced in between Rs 2.5-3 lakh range.
