New Delhi: India's leading car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of its latest mid-sized sedan called Ciaz which is slated to happen next month.
Maruti had unveiled the concept version of the Ciaz earlier this year at the 2014 Auto Expo and latest images show that MSI has commenced production of Ciaz at its manufacturing facility located in Manesar, Haryana. Bookings are expected to begin by end of this month ahead of Ciaz's official launch.
Ciaz is expected to launched in three trim levels each in petrol and diesel guise including- Vxi, VXi+,ZXi (petrol range) and VDi, VDi+ and ZDi (diesel range). Maruti is expected to offer projector head lights as standard fitment. Basic trim is likely to get rear AC vents, driver arm rest, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, an integrated music system and a two-tone colour scheme inside the cabin.
Design-wise, the new Ciaz looks a lot like the last generation SX4 and the Kizashi luxury sedan. The front fascia sports an inverted trapezoidal grille with four chrome slats and the ‘Suzuki' logo. The headlamps are elongated wrap-around units with projectors, which are expected to be offered as standard throughout the range.
The shape of taillight and the multi-layered bootlid design make it resemble the new Honda City's rear end.
The interiors seem to take inspiration from premium Maruti Kizashi.
Optional features include 5-inch display for the infotainment system, reverse parking camera, ABS, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control air-conditioning, additional airbags and push button start.
In C sedan segment, Ciaz will compete against the likes of new Honda City and Hyundai Verna, new Fiat Linea and upgraded Nissan Sunny. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is expected to start from Rs 7.5 lakh onwards.
