New Delhi: Tata Communications finance chief Sanjay Baweja is likely to join India's largest e-commerce firm, Flipkart India Pvt. Ltd, as its new chief financial officer (CFO), media reports suggest.
Earlier this year, Karandeep Singh, Chief Financial Officer at Flipkart.com, quit the company citing personal reasons. The company has been struggling to find a new CFO since then. Kalyan Krishnamurthy, a former executive at Flipkart investor Tiger Global, was the interim CFO.
In a BSE filing, Tata Communications said: "Sanjay Baweja, CFO, will be leaving the organisation to pursue other opportunities. Tata Communications is currently seeking chief financial officer candidates and intends to complete its search in the near future."
In order to facilitate an orderly transition, Baweja will continue serving as the CFO until November 3, 2014, it added. As CFO, Baweja was responsible for strategic financial management including financial reporting and compliance, treasury and fund management, financial planning and analysis, management assurance, taxation and procurement etc.
