New Delhi: German Auto major BMW has launched the X3 facelift in two variants with a starting price of Rs 44.90 lakh. First unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year, the new model features cosmetic changes, minor technical upgrades and the addition of a few more features. The new model competes against the likes of Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, and Mercedes ML Class.

The X3′s two variants are the X3 xDrive 20d Expedition and X3 xDrive 20d xLine.

The X3 continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine, capable of churning out a maximum power output of 190bhp and 400Nm of torque. The more powerful xDrive 30d with 3.0l inline 6 diesel mill, is not offered as yet with the new X3. The 20d will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that will send power to all four wheels with the help of the xDrive system.

The model delivers a fuel economy of 18.56 kmpl, with a top speed is 210 kmph and 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds.

To make it look more upmarket than before, the new X3 is offered with refreshed headlamps, altered bumpers, ORVMs with turn indicators and a visually more attractive profile.

On the inside, you'll see the new BMW Connected Drive system which has the latest iDrive which can also be connected via Bluetooth and USB. The automaker is also offering Park Distance Control as a standard feature. The new X5 comes with the textured wood finish which we loved in the X5. Darker leather shades, a wider display screen and new dials are part of the upgrade.

On the safety front, there are eight airbags, ABS with Brake Assist and Dynamic Stability Control.

The top of the line xLine features panaromic sunroof, larger 18 inch wheels, aluminium roof rails, sport leather steering wheel, 7 channel 9 speaker system, Sport+ drive mode, dynamic braking for individual wheels, and leather upholstery.
