New Delhi: Nokia Technologies has entered into an agreement with The Walt Disney Studios, supporting the creation of Virtual Reality (VR) experiences to complement all the theatrical releases from Disney.

As a part of the deal, Nokia Technologies will provide its OZO virtual reality camera and software to the Disney filmmakers to create an engaging VR content.

Jamie Voris in a report said, “We are very excited to collaborate with Nokia Technologies to help explore the creation of VR content for our theatrical releases.”

"Virtual Reality represents a new frontier in storytelling, and we're thrilled to be bringing this VR technology to the team at Disney. OZO will help Disney bring their film properties to life in new ways through immersive entertainment experiences, and our focus will be on helping them get the most out of VR as they begin to uncover all that it has to offer," Ramzi Haidamus, President at Nokia Technologies, said.

Disney recently used an OZO to create 360-degree video content at the premiere of ‘The Jungle Book’, which was available in 360-degrees on Facebook and could also be viewed with Google Cardboard and Samsung VR Gear systems.

OZO is the world's first and only virtual reality camera, which was launched in November 2015 for the professional content creators. The camera features real-time VR preview, 3D 360 degree spatial audio and video capture, full compatibility with professional workflows and multiple head mounted displays. It can also reduce the post-production time, complexity and cost. The OZO camera is priced at $60,000 (approximately 39 lakhs).
