Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that India will soon be moving towards becoming a voluntary tax compliant society.
The Finance Minister further indicated that the government agencies will take greater compliance measures in the days ahead.
"We are moving from a developing state to a developed state. As we move from a developing economy to developed economy, we will also be moving to a voluntary tax compliant society," Jaitley said while addressing Enforcement Day celebrations.
"Non-compliance of tax laws is both against public interest and national interest," he added.
